Wireless carriers and update delays are kind of synonymous. However, there are exceptions as well. For example, the T-Mobile branded OnePlus 7 Pro got July security patch whereas the regular unlocked variant was stuck with June patch level at that time.

Comparing the timings of OTA rollout events as well as the version identifiers, we are pretty much certain that the carrier branded firmware for OnePlus 7 Pro is almost inline with the unbranded one. But that does not explain the arrival of July patches on the T-Mobile units.

On the other hand, a tipster informed us that OnePlus was evaluating August security patch on global OnePlus 7 Pro around the same time of the last T-Mobile OTA. We speculated that the company might entirely skip the July patch, although we would still need some concrete proofs.

Well well well, the Chinese OEM actually beats Google (honorary mention: Essential too!) this time. Believe it or not, but OnePlus really started to distribute OxygenOS 9.5.11 with August 2019 security patches to OnePlus 7 Pro units since yesterday (July 31)!

Both global/Indian as well as European models are now receiving this new OTA. Apart from an updated monthly patch, OnePlus also included an updated collection of Google Mobile Services (GMS) and various bug fixes related to adaptive brightness and touch panel responses.

Manu J. from OnePlus officially announced this update last night. The complete changelog is as follows:

The full build tag reveals the compilation date of this build as July 28. The stock camera app version is bumped to 3.4.25, but no major feature was introduced.

Those who are already on OxygenOS 9.5.10 should receive an incremental OTA of 306 MB, whereas the full package weighs about 2 GB. Thanks to our collaboration with the Oxygen Updater project, you can grab them from the following section:
