New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Realme has already setup a strong presence in Indian smartphone territory, and the offshoot of OPPO is slowly expanding to other regional markets such as Europe.
Their strength is the bang-for-buck strategy, although the OEM is moving focus towards mid-ranger and flagships as well.
However, the company does not forget its roots. For example, Realme C2, one of the entry level handsets from the OEM, was launched with dual rear cameras as well Android Pie based ColorOS 6.
Powered by a large 4,000 mAh battery, the base variant (2/16) of Realme C2 costs ₹5,999 (less than $90)!.
The configuration is practically steller under the price tag. The OEM even enabled 10W charging support (remember, it’s still a budget phone, so no USB-C) via OTA update back in May. The build also brought May security patches to the budget beast.
It is worth mentioning that Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed the arrival of various new features, such as system-wide dark mode and screen recorder with internal sound recording support via future updates to Realme phones.
Well, Realme C2 owners have not received any new software update since the May update. But the situation is going to change now, as the company reportedly rolling out a new OTA to select users.
The build number of this new update is RMX1945EX_11_A.13, a slight bump from the May update (A.11). For some reason, the OTA prompt contains the string RMX1945EX_11_T.13 – typo perhaps?
The complete changelog is rather concise to deduce anything useful, as it mentions only the following:
System
– Fixed Burmese display issue in certain areas
– Fixed some bugs and improved stability
We are not sure whether Realme engineers included the long-anticipated multi-touch bugfix in this update or not, but the security patch level remains unchanged as May 5, 2019.
As mentioned earlier, the update is currently being distributed in batches. You may need to wait some days, even weeks, to have the OTA on your phone.
We are unable to locate the full update package while writing this article, so no download link is possible at this time. However, worry not, as we will update the article once we get our hands on the package. ?
Update (August 1)
