A few days back, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 devices received the June security update. The patch brought new features like Digital Wellbeing, and bug fixes for power-off icon in Dark Mode which appeared black, improved vibration intensity and optimized low headset volume glitch.

And now, incoming are monthly security update alerts on few more Asus ZenFone devices.

ZenFone Max M2 (ZB633KL) is Asus’ 2018 device that mid-range device that is fueled with a Snapdragon 632 processor. The phone came with Android 8.1 Oreo and was bumped to Android 9.0 Pie back in April along with ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2 devices.

The initial roll out was limited on to the Indian variants of ZenFone Max M2 i.e. ZB632KL. However, a month later, the OEM expanded the roll out globally, delivering Android Pie to ZB633KL variants as well. The firmware carried build number 16.2018.1905.42 and brought along the May security patch.

Cut to now. As of today, Asus has pushed another monthly security update for ZenFone Max M2 devices. With build number 16.2018.1906.47, the new update brings in the June security patch. Also, Google Mobile Services (GSM) has been upgraded, along with optimized Android system.

This patch is meant for the global variants of Max M2. Here’s what the official release notes say:

Moving on, the second Asus device to receive a monthly security update is ZenFone 4 Pro. ZenFone 4 Pro (ZS551KL) is a 2017 high-end phone powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC. 4 Pro originally shipped with Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), and was later upgraded to to Android 8 (Oreo) layered with ZenUI 4.

The currently rolling out FOTA update is nothing more than a monthly security update. It bumps the version further to 15.0410.1906.110, and the release notes simply say:

As is usually the case with FOTA updates, they roll out in batches, and hence may take time to make it to all ZenFone Max M2 and ZenFone 4 Pro units. Therefore, device users are suggested to either wait for the FOTA notification, or manually install the patches once they get listed at the official website.
