Harry Potter Wizards Unite GPS location not updating problem officially acknowledged

Harry Potter Wizards Unite is approaching towards its first month, and the game has already received more than 5 million downloads. The game community is growing at a good and steady pace, and that is a really good sign for Niantic.

The game is still at its early stage, and there are a few bugs which are currently troubling some players including an issue with Portkeys, Potions collection bug and purchase issue at Diagon Alley.

But now a new bug has surfaced out for the game where the location of the game is not updating continuously. Before discussing that let us have a look at the journey of Wizards Unite so far.

For a quick refresher, the first Harry Potter Wizards Unite event was announced on July 4 and called Brilliant Event. It required players to return the brilliant foundables to the Brilliant Event Registry page. Also, players were required to complete the Brilliant event tasks.

Niantic has also announced the first-ever Community Day for the game on July 20. The announcement regarding the timings and schedule for the event has also been listed out. The event will commence for the Asia Pacific region on July 20, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For the European, the Middle East, Africa, and India, the event will go live on July 20 at 10 a.m. and will stay live until 1 p.m. For the American region, the event will go live on July 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Now, let us discuss the location bug which is currently troubling Wizards Unite players. One Reddit user ‘intentionallybad’ took this issue to Reddit and explained that his location in the game is not updating properly.

The game is getting a correct location for traces because when he is moving, the traces that were present in his previous location are vanishing. So, the game is not properly updating the avatar on the map. So, maybe GPS of the game is not syncing with the map properly.

The most concerning thing about this problem is that the game is not counting any movement made towards the Portkeys. Let us have a look at the series of complaints made by players on this issue.
