Despite Huawei’s rough situation due to the company’s ban in the US, the Chinese telecom giant is holding up well. Making the most of the three months extension where they continue working with Google, the company has been actively announcing firmware updates for one after the other phone.

Seemingly, Huawei isn’t letting the ongoing trade ban stop them from rolling out the yet to be released Android OS dessert Android Q to their devices. A few days back, Huawei’s UK blog shared an official list of phones the company plans to upgrade to Android Q.

While Mate 20 Pro has been approved for Android Q, and a beta developer program has already been started on the device, a host of Huawei devices have been submitted to be approved for Android Q.

The list includes multiple phones namely Huawei P30, P30 Pro, P30 lite, P20, P20 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 20 RS, P Smart 2019, P Smart+ 2019, P Smart Z, Mate 20, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 X (5G), Mate 10 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 10 as well as Mate 10.

While the OEM has been quite vocal about Huawei phones, until now nothing much came to light regarding Android Q on Huawei’s sub brand Honor phones. But that changes now.

Just like many Huawei phones, the company has pushed Android Pie-based EMUI 9/9.1 to some Honor phones like Honor 9N and 9 Lite and monthly security updates to devices like Honor View 10, 8 Pro, 10 Lite, Honor Play, View 20 etc. But Honor users are curious to know about Android Q.

A new list has now surfaced going by which Honor 20 series devices including Honor 20 Lite (aka Honor 10i), Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will get to experience the newest Android OS version, Android Q.

Just for reminder, something similar came from Huawei Mobile UK sometime back, when they announced Android Q for Huawei P30 series and Mate 20 Pro.

As for Honor phones, apart from Honor 20 series, going by the information coming from Honor France (on Twitter), Honor 10 is also likely to see Android Q. They shared this while reverting back to a users and here’s a translation of the interaction between Honor France and the inquirer:

So it appears, apart from Honor 20 series, Honor 10 may also get upgraded to Android Q. Additionally, as per some news publications, other phones like Honor 20i, Honor View 20, Honor 10 Lite, Honor Play and Honor 8X may also be upgraded. However, we aren’t sure of the basis of this information.

Update 1 (July 26)

Android Q has been confirmed for both Honor 8X and Honor 10. Complete story here.
