Samsung Galaxy J4 Core One UI (Android Pie Go) update starts rolling

Android 9.0 Pie based Samsung’s smartphone operating system interface One UI was released with the company’s latest flagship phones Galaxy S10 series. Soon after the release, One UI began to hit Galaxy S10 predecessor phones like Galaxy S9/S9+, Note9, S8/S8+, Note 8 and other phones.

Then just recently, One UI/Android 9.0 Pie was pushed to Samaung Galaxy J7 Pro (called J (2017) in some regions) and Galaxy J7 Nxt (aka J7 Neo) devices. Along with Pie, these 2017 mid-ranger devices (powered by Exynos 7870 chipset) also received the May security patch.

And now One UI is making way to the Korean OEM’s 2018 low-end device, Galaxy J4 Core. Unlike most of Samsung phones that sport an Exynos processor, Galaxy J4 Core is powered by Snapdragon 425 SoC instead. The phone originally shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition).

Go edition, as some of you may be aware, is a lighter version of Android OS that is designed for entry-level smartphones. OEMs have the ability to tweak this OS as per their requirement, unlike Android One. And Samsung Galaxy J4 Core is a Go edition device.

Now the phone is receiving Android 9.0 Pie based One UI. The information came straight from the hoarse’s mouth. The official Samsung Brazil Twitter handle informed an inquirer sometime back that Android Pie has already been pushed to Galaxy J4 phones.

Here’s what they said (translated form Portuguese):

I have already started releasing this update, soon you will receive on your device 😉

It goes without saying that Galaxy J4 Core will feature a trimmed down version of Android Pie, i.e. Android Pie Go. Those of you who have been waiting for Android Pie on Galaxy J4 Core will get to see it soon. Sadly, we haven’t got hands on the update changelog, but are looking for it.
