New information is being added to the bottom of the story…

Original story follows:

Like every year, this year’s Android Q – which is currently under beta testing – is being desperately eyed on. Google released Android Q beta 4 just yesterday. And right after the update got live, main stream tech media highlighted how it instigated installation failure/bootloops on some Pixel devices.

What was relieving was that a Pixel user who faced the issue did confirm that factory resetting their unit resolved the bootloops glitch.

And now, it appears the company may have pulled Android Q beta 4 update. Some Pixel users who’ve enrolled in the Android Q beta program have shared their observation across Twitter, saying the update isn’t available anymore.

Considering the user reports and in a look out for an official word, we routed to Android beta’s official announcement page at Reddit. ‘Android Q beta 4 now available’ announcement page notifies the update has been temporarily paused for impacted Pixel 2/2Xl/3/3XL models due to installation issues.

Here’s what the update reads:

We’re aware of an issue with Android Q Beta 4 related to installing updates that impacts a small number of Pixel devices. We’ve temporarily paused updates to impacted models (Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL) as we investigate the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience, and will provide an update once the issue is resolved.

While the announcement page reads the update has been halted for affected models, recent user comments on that page also confirm the update has been rolled back. Here are some for a quick glance:

Is Q beta 4 being pulled back? ? i got notification before, left for awhile & when i want to install its gone already

I saw the system update message popped up and I pressed the update button….then….after a while… it went to lock screen and I get back…the update has gone…and I can’t get the update anymore! hahaha…am I only one having this problem? 😀

I started the download, it was ready to restart, I had to walk away and leave the phone for a minute, now I come back to no update? I don’t know where it went, but I’m still at beta 3 and can’t find the build for 4? I haven’t searched through files yet, and don’t want to try to update again if it would brick the phone, but I’ve been waiting for this update. If I seriously can’t find it, how do I get another download? Is it on Reddit, or should I go to GitHub? I’ve got a pixel 3 Q beta 3.

So all in all Android Q beta 4 update has been taken back due to installation failure or bootloops issue. We are keeping and active track on all related developments and will update the story and when the beta update gets live again.

Update 1 (June 06)

Google earlier said they paused the OTA roll out to all affected devices, but now they’ve tweaked their announcement saying the rollout has been paused for all Pixels. Here’s the new announcement:
