New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on June 4) follows:
Tracking the user submitted bug reports, rather finding the actual problems from the dump is the actual challenging task. Smartphone makers such as OnePlus created their own integrated problem reporting wizard as part of the OS, so that end users can seamlessly report their issues.
With the introduction of the feedback tool, log capturing is automated. You no longer need to manually capture logs or wait for a bug hunter to share instructions on what logs need to be captured. Depending on the type of bug, the feedback tool automatically captures the required logs.

The Chinese OEM also maintains a dedicated ‘Bug Hunter’ team. The members of this ‘army’ are the liaisons between the developers and the regular users.
Abdulbasithmh, the man behind the OnePlus Bug Hunter team, is currently maintaining a long list of reported bugs from OnePlus 7 Pro users. He has also published a series of tentative fixes to be included in the upcoming OTA update for the phone.
The random ghost touch issue is a prime matter of controversy these days. Multiple OnePlus 7 Pro users are reportedly affected by this annoying bug. Although it is not listed under the category of upcoming updates, Chinese users are reportedly getting a new bug fix update addressing this issue.
A rough translation of the changelog reveals the following:
Update content
– To optimize the touch screen ghost problem
– Added the sliding gesture function, currently lacking the use of guide animation. Settings > Buttons and Gestures > Virtual Buttons and Full Screen Gestures > Back on Both Sides)
– Fix Known Issues
There is no mention of this update yet in the official announcement section for HydrogenOS in OnePlus Chinese forum, but a user having Chinese OnePlus 7 Pro (GM1910) contacted the author and seconded the existence of this new update.
FYI, the changelogs of HydrogenOS 9.5.3 and OxygenOS 9.5.4(global)/9.5.5(EU) are quite similar in nature. Although the upper layer is different, both skins use same low level components inside. Thus we can easily speculate that the next OxygenOS update will feature these fixes.
The official HydrogenOS download portal has not been updated with the new build for the OnePlus 7 Pro at the time of writing this article. The version number of the OTA should be 9.5.4.GM21.
PiunikaWeb and Oxygen Updater team is closely monitoring the OTA updates of OnePlus phones, so expect new articles from us on this matter.
