Incoming is a new YouTube feature alert on iOS devices.

Google’s video-sharing platform YouTube has an immensely huge use-base, and the company keeps experimenting with features every now and then. Take for example YouTube Gaming app and website that – came into being back in 2015 and – takes its last breath today i.e. May 30.

The service is being terminated today, only to be replaced by a new YouTube Gaming destination at youtube.com/gaming (that was announced by the company last year) to offers gamers a better experience.

Similarly, now the company has taken a step to enhance user experience of YouTube ioS app users. As of today, they’ve added a new functionality that lets you filter your Subscriptions feed. Meaning, now you can see the latest videos by a channel/creator within the Subscriptions tab itself.

As soon as you’ll tap on a channel icon in the horizontal list of suggested channels, you’ll now get to see the latest videos from that very creator in reverse chronological order within the Subscriptions tab. So you don’t have to leave the subscriptions feed for viewing a creators content.

Youtube explains the change saying:

This is like filtering your Subscriptions feed, just for that one channel. Because the list of your subscriptions sticks around at the top, you can more easily “surf” from one channel to the next in order to catch up on their latest uploads.

Here’s how YouTube demonstrates the change with a small gif:

Moreover, while tapping on ‘View Channel’ will take you from the filtered view to the concerned channel’s homepage, the back arrow icon will bring you back to the Subscriptions feed view.

If you want to navigate to the Channel’s homepage, just click on “View Channel” from the filtered view. And, if you want to navigate back to the main Subscriptions feed view, simply tap the back arrow or the currently selected channel icon.

While the feature/update is currently rolling out only to iOS, the company says they intend to bring the same to Android soon. Rest assured, we’ll let you know as and when that happens. Till then, those of you who have an iOS device, enjoy the filtered subscriptions feed just like me.
