The clock is ticking, and the OnePlus fans are enjoying a mad and wild adrenaline rush. With less than a month left before the launch of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro (well, we are kinda sure about the naming scheme, aren’t we?), leaks are springing up like mushrooms.
Veteran leaksters Steve H.McFly (popularly known as @OnLeaks) and Ishan Agarwal are holding the pole position in terms of leaking reliable info regarding the upcoming 2019 lineup of phones from the Chinese OEM.
After unveiling a truckload of high quality renders as well as 360 degree videos for both regular OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, OnLeaks has decided to share the launch date and camera configs of these phones.
#OnePlus May 14th launch event: #OnePlus7 ≈ 6.4" flat display / waterdrop notch front camera / dual rear camera with 48MP as primary #OnePlus7Pro ≈ 6.64" curved display / pop-up front camera / triple rear camera with 48MP as primary + Telephoto + Ultra Wide#OnePlus7PRO5G pic.twitter.com/zGic9AQdVx

In terms of screen size, the base model will sport a 6.4 inches flat display with a waterdrop notch – almost equivalent to the OnePlus 6T. I won’t be surprised if they use the same display panel in OnePlus 7.
The Pro variant, on the other hand, should feature a 6.64 inches curved display without any notch or punch hole, as OnePlus decided to opt for popup selfie camera with this model.
The primary camera module should be a 48 MP one in both of them, although the exact model of the sensor is unknown. The choice is limited to Sony’s IMX586 or Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GM1 at this moment, and OnePlus prefers Sony’s sensor anyway.
The suggested launch date (May 14) is inline with the previous leak from Ishan.
Okay, so I'm gonna stop with the estimations and give you all what you want. I can confirm that #OnePlus7 Series is launching globally on "14th May" 2019! Exactly 1 month left for #OnePlus' Flagship Killer to be revealed! According to earlier leak: #GoBeyondSpeed! #OnePlus7Pro pic.twitter.com/KlUpHjZms7

In a recent tweet, the young leaker has confirmed that the launch event will be simultaneously held at New York, UK and Bangalore on 14th May.
Also, the launch event may happen in New York, UK and Bangalore simultaneously on 14th May. Starting time for Bangalore event is supposedly 8:30pm! I’m excited! ?
Wait, there’s more to come!
Ishan has collaborated with Android Central to disclose a bunch of new facts about the OnePlus 7 lineup.

OnePlus used to provide 1080p panels since the inception of the brand, thus the jump to a QHD+ panel is going to be a game changer for the Pro variant. The 90 Hz refresh rate is another killer feature as it’ll surely help OnePlus to combat against OEMs like Razer.

The phone will also see an upgraded USB controller revision – from the dated 2.0 to modern age 3.1. The regular model may stick with USB 2.0 (just like OnePlus 6T) for cutting the cost factors.
The battery capacity is hinted as 4,000 mAh, which is 8% bigger than its predecessor. The fast charging tech aka OnePlus’ proprietary WARP Charge should be clocked at 30W, i.e. same as OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.

It may be possible that OnePlus uses the basic 5V/4A (20W) WARP Charge on the regular OnePlus 7 model to justify the premiumness of the Pro variant.
While the company is preparing for the big launch, they are also organising the second Open Ears forum in India.
Hello India! Drop what you're doing, because most important announcement of this month has come: we're bringing Open Ears back! This time, we'll be focusing on Developer Community. Check out the details: https://t.co/1R3Jzjoy3y

The event will take place on May 8 at Goa, with community development as the primary theme.
Now Park Ju Hyung, better known as arter97 among the development community, has announced that he will be a part of the India OEF!
Just got a greenlight that we can talk about this.

I got invited from OnePlus and I'll be flying in from Korea to attend this event. This would actually be my first trip overseas ever since I became an adult. Not a bad start I guess. https://t.co/zuX6xIv6s7
“Just got a greenlight…” – is OnePlus maintaining some kind of NDA? Are you going to see more developers joining the roster? Stay tuned!
Meanwhile in China, OnePlus team is organizing a Q/A event called “5G Future TALK Forum” at the Beijing Magic Arts Center. They are also planning to unveil the 5G model of the OnePlus 7 in that forum, provided Google Translate isn’t fooling me.
Interested users are requested to visit the official announcement thread to know further details.
Moving on, daily dose followers may recall a design flaw in OxygenOS discovered by us. It can force the OnePlus phones to download some GPS data over insecure channels, thus opening a chance of MITM attacks.
Fortunately OnePlus engineers quickly patched the vulnerability in their recent Open Beta builds. The updated configuration file is as follows:
Oh, I should remind you guys something. Today’s the last date for casting your vote to the 5G Apps of Tomorrow entries.
