OnePlus literally rattled me by resuming Open Beta and starting a new stable update rollout for 6 and 6T almost simultaneously. You know, when you are interested in monitoring the updates, and they are planning to overflow your radar – well, just leave it!
Being a Chinese company, OnePlus employees in China observed a little vacation period during the Chinese New Year. Now they are back with full workforce, and the first thing they have done is to trigger the update rollout.
For now, there is no new Open Beta builds for OnePlus 5 and 5T after the unfortunate events with previous update.
However, the recent updates for OP6 and 6T contain an interesting fix regarding the bluetooth stack and underlying firmware. They didn’t mention it in the official changelogs though.
If you are like me who often can’t find the keyring, you should be aware of Tile. Their nifty gizmo can be mounted on the physical objects and tracked via their smartphone app.
OnePlus phones had a long history of incompatibilities with select Tile trackers. The glitches happened due to faulty BLE implementation by OnePlus.
OnePlus acknowledged the bug and promised to fix it:
Users are now reporting that both the latest Open Beta and stable updates completely resolved the issue for them.
confirmed. My tile pros are connecting on beta04

Tile Pro works now with Official Stable Update 9.0.4. Thanks OnePlus for the fix 🙂

Cute little surprise, isn’t it?
Talking about surprises, OnePlus has stunned the community by securing themself in the list of top five high-end smartphone makers in the US.
The research was conducted by analysis firm IDC, who considered phones costing $500 or higher as high-end. The base of statistics were the sales data obtained in Q4, 2018.
OnePlus previously claimed a monstrous 249% increment in the first month sales figures of OnePlus 6T in USA, compared to the same with OnePlus 6.

The collaboration with T-Mobile is certainly an important factor here. Common people can now buy OnePlus phones from the 3rd largest carrier, which gives a huge boost behind the OnePlus brand itself.
A daily Joe is now aware of the Shenzhen based smartphone maker. You may find some artificial shortcomings and delayed updates on the T-Mobile exclusive variant of OnePlus 6T, but hey! It’s making money!
Yo @TMobileHelp, @TMobile; when is the @oneplus 6T going to get an update? It's like 3 updates behind the unlocked variant and still on the December security patch and it's Feb already?????

Not only for their profits, but OnePlus is also generating media buzzwords for their not-so-secret 5G prototype demo in MWC 2019. We talked about in details in yesterday’s daily dose of OnePlus News.
Eminent leakster Roland Quandt now revealed that the actual event would be much larger.
.@OnePlus is going full-on 5G insane at #MWC19, as they will not only show off their 5G prototype phone, but both Pete Lau and Carl Pei will be at the show together with British telco EE and Qualcomm's top management talking to members of the media. This'll be really intersting!

A media event is expected to be conducted after the demo of their 5G prototype. Pete Lau (CEO, OnePlus) and Carl Pei (Director, OnePlus) will be accompanied by EE and Qualcomm’s top management teams.
FYI, EE will carry the future 5G phone from OnePlus in UK.
We are taking the next step in our journey to the top of the global flagship market! OnePlus and @EE will join forces to deliver a #5G ready flagship in early 2019. https://t.co/NYppNZ6nYF #SnapdragonSummit pic.twitter.com/bXo0hulRmo
