Showbox suffered a massive outage in November last year. As the service remained down for days, speculations were rife that it may have been shut down like MovieBox. However, that was not the case, as ShowBox started working eventually.
Developers shared there were indeed legal issues that impacted the service, and also warned the service may be back, but things could go south anytime.

Thankfully, nothing major has happened since then, but there have been some technical glitches.
Last week, ShowBox developers took to Twitter to share that if users have been facing server issues with ShowBox, they were due to some server glitches. The developers even apologized, but warned that this instability may continue for few more days.

The #ShowBox servers are working for the time being, but be wary of instability so they may go up and down in the next few days

And recently, they again confirmed issues with the streaming service, while noting they are yet to figure out the root cause. However, they did say re-installing the app fixes the problems.
If difficulties continue with your #ShowBox app unfortunately you may have to reinstall the application for reasons we are still figuring out. Or you can wait and the issue may resolve itself we have found in a few cases. Thanks for your patience!

So you see, either you can try re-installing the app or wait for the problems to fix automatically. Team ShowBox isn’t able to provide much information on why these problems are happening. Let’s hope they figure out the root cause soon, and fix these problems once and for all.
Meanwhile, do let us know whether or not the ‘reinstalling app’ workaround does the trick for you. Use the comments section below to share your experience with us.
