There are new updates that have been added at the bottom of this story…

A couple of days back, we highlighted how Instagram is allegedly deleting fan accounts, and of course, users are not happy about it. The biggest example we cited was that of Nat (classicpewds on Instagram), who owned a PewDiePie fan account with more than 100k followers.

Nat’s account got deleted a few days back.

Here’s a recent post from Nat – the person behind the account – from her backup account ‘classic.pewds’:

What came to light is there are Instagram accounts that have been built with the sole purpose of reporting other/fan accounts, and have even managed to get many fan accounts deleted.

It was one such account – reportingfanaccountslol – that got Nat’s account deleted. The editor took to Twitter to urge followers to report the account to Instagram. Here’s her tweet:

I can’t believe has the heart to do such a thing but please go report this account, DO NOT COMMENT NOR INTERACT JUST REPORT THEM. They might delete your account ! Please and thank you so much for everything!!

Of course, many of Nat’s followers went ahead and reported the account.

However, the account is still there. Meaning, Instagram hasn’t taken it down yet. In fact, if you take a look at the posts on that account, you’ll see they have managed to get Nat’s backup Instagram account (classic.pewds) deleted as well.

Zach Clayton highlights the matter

Looks like influencers have started bringing this whole fan accounts deletion to light. Social media star Zach Clayton – who goes by badzachx on Instragram, and has close to 2.5 million followers – took to Twitter to call out Instagram over this.

Instagram gotta chill with this deleting fan accounts mess

It’s not known whether Zach personally knows someone whose fan account got deleted, or he made the statement based on all the reports that have been pouring in for last week or so.

Anyway, it’s good social media celebs have started discussing this, as there are now chances that we will get a word from Instagram itself over this whole issue.

Meanwhile, users are super annoyed with Instagram. Take a look:
