[Feb 18 update] ShowBox 5.26 reportedly released, but here's why you should hold off updating

There are new updates that have been added to the bottom of this story….

A new report is claiming that the ShowBox app has been updated. Pushed out on January 03, the update bumps the version of the app to 5.26.

As for changes, the report claims over 100 new movies and TV shows have been added and majority bugs have been fixed as well. The update weighs in at 37.8 MB.

A new update, and that too one that brings new titles is definitely music to ears for users of the app, but I suggest you hold off updating the app.

Why hold off?

The reason I am suggesting you to hold off is because the new version 5.26 apk is currently available only through a couple of sources, including the ShowBox VPN website and a Google Drive account (via ToolsDroid).

Sadly, the official ShowBox Twitter account has never mentioned these source ever since it became active again last month. The only source they mentioned was aptiode. Here’s what the account had said last month:

If there are problems with the #Showbox app you have at this current time you may want to delete it and try another source of download, we recommend aptoide as they are usually reliable and safe!

And if you take a look at the showbox repo on Aptoide, you’ll see the latest version there is 5.24.

Besides, the official Twitter account has also not said anything about the new update.

So basically, if you go by what ShowBox says, the reliable platform is yet to host the new update. That’s the reason I am suggesting you to hold off. Apart from this, there’s no proof to suggest the two platforms that host ShowBox 5.26 are not reliable.
