If you are leaving a 1star review on Google Play or Apple store for @tumblr due to the #tumblr #logoffprotest please make sure that you also rate other people's 1star reviews as 'helpful' so they get bumped in relevancy.

NOTE: For all latest, breaking news related to Tumblr adult content ban as well as its alternatives, head here.
So Tumblr’s adult content ban came into force yesterday (December 17). The company came up with a new blog post announcing this, while emphasizing on aspects like flagged items won’t be deleted, the platform fully recognizes its special obligation to minority communities, and some visuals of what all content is still permitted.
December 17 also saw a ‘log off’ protest from a section of Tumblr users. We covered the protest in detail here. There’s currently no information on how big the protest was, and more importantly, how successful it was (the aim was to put a dent in Tumblr’s earnings).
Logging off from Tumblr for 24 hours, however, wasn’t the only way users were protesting. Turns out a lot of them were also leaving negative reviews for the Tumblr app, especially on the Apple App Store.

Hey folks. Lets show @yahoo @verizon @tumblr what we think of their puritan bullshit! Today we uninstall their shitty app from all of our devices and give it a bad review. #tumbxit pic.twitter.com/fKCiOYCfUO

There’s more you can do than just the #LogOffProtest. Tumblr’s App is back on the App Store. Try writing an honest review of how #Tumblr treats it’s user base. One star sounds about fair, yeah? #LogOff2018

But curiously, many users have shared anomalies they observed with the Tumblr app reviews on the App Store. Take a look at these reports:

So I just went to the App Store to look at reviews for the Tumblr app and for some reason, all the bad ratings and reviews I saw just disappeared.
They’re gone!
Apple is either broken, or Tumblr is a lying pieace of trash. 2,2 of 5 in midnight, and suddenly 6 hours later 4,4 again(it’s been the same results all week before 17.des). Is this a cover up from tumblr, to show everythings «Okey»? #tumblrpurge #tumblrlogout pic.twitter.com/PxDwVceBFj

I saw the App Store rating too and it didn’t add up at all! #detectingbullshit #youcantfoolusverizon pic.twitter.com/bpjIXEaA8f

It's up to 8.1, which is really, really suspicious. Just added my own 1 star rating. Something very fishy is going on.

It looks to me like they're cheating the system by saying it's for different versions. 🙄

Yo so is it just me or did the number of reviews on tumblr in the App Store go from over 81k to 40k

Hey guys @tumblr and the #AppStore are deleting the 1 star reviews. A few hours ago the main page of the app was all 1 star reviews and now they are showing reviews form a year ago. So go there and review it again. #tumblrboycott #tumblrprotest #logoffprotest #tumblr
