Late last month, OnePlus started rolling out a new update to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. It arrived as OxygenOS 5.0.7 and brought along a handful of changes. Here’s the official change log:
- Updated Android security patch to 2018.11
- Supported OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones
- General bug fixes and improvements
Looks like there was some issue with the update as the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has now started rolling out a hotfix update. The new update arrives as OxygenOS 5.0.8.
As you can see, the change-log for the new update is same as that of the previous one. However, what gets us curious is the size – 1,543 MB is too big for an incremental update.
Hot fixes are usually pushed out for critical bugs and issues. So it’d be interesting to know what high priority issue forced OnePlus to push out this new update. In search for the answer, we looked at the official OnePlus forum, and found users reporting about this new update since couple of days.
Sadly, everyone seems to be clueless at the moment. And as far as one can see, OnePlus has just tweaked the heading of the OxygenOS 5.0.7 update forum thread to say OxygenOS 5.0.8(HotFix), without offering any explanation.
