Not long ago, Pixel 2/2 XL users reported random crashes with Android Auto. While Google’s currently working on fixing that glitch, a different problem has popped up.
Now users say their Pixel 2 units are randomly rebooting during calls while connected to Android Auto. No such issue is being observed while making calls normally, so it’s clearly an Android Auto-Pixel 2 connectivity problem.
Complaints related to such Pixel 2 reboots are quite widespread, being reported on the official Android Auto help forum, Reddit, Android Central and even Verizon’s official forum. Google finally addressed the issue this morning, asking for bug reports, which usually conveys that the company has started investigating the problem.
Here’s what Google Employee Yurrim’s latest post says:
Could you please capture a bug report and share with us if you are still experiencing this issue? We’ll send you the instructions to your email, please directly respond to it with a bug report attached if available
It’s difficult to say on whether the problem is with Android Auto, or is it the Pixel 2 which is the culprit. Whatever the case, the wait for fix shouldn’t be long, as Google has started looking into it. Meanwhile, keep visiting back here, as we are keeping a close watch on all relevant developments related to this matter.
