Shortly after Google fixed the recurring reminders problem plaguing Android Wear 2.0 devices, another Android Wear 2.0 issue – related to music controls – has been resolved now.

To quickly refresh, back in May this year, Android Wear users brought to notice that after updating their smart watches to version 2.0 of the OS, music controls were not working as intended. Those affected mentioned that they were unable to play/pause/next/previous/skip music from watch controls when streaming to Chromecast/Chromecast Audio devices through phone.

So effectively, aside from volume, all other music-related options (as can be seen in the following user-shared screenshot) on the watch did not work.

It’s worth mentioning that the issue occurred only when the setup involved Chromecast and the app in use was Google Play Music – everything worked fine otherwise.

After a long period of silence, Google employee Ernest (who is also the Community Manager at Android Wear Help forum) called the issue fixed in his latest post.

For those who had this issue, this was solved

He also suggested users to update to the latest version of Android Wear (both on phone and watch) as well as the Google Play Music app. Here’s the complete statement.
