Asus ZenFone 6 Android 11 beta to allegedly get CTS certification to allow use of Google Pay & other apps

Asus’ 2019 flagship, the ZenFone 6, also known as Asus 6z, is in line for the Android 11 update which is in beta testing phase for the time being.

The beta recruitment for the ZenFone 6 started back in August and it has received the Android 11 beta 4 update.

However, beta updates are full of bugs and issues which is why they are not recommended to be used as daily drivers.

Other concerns include the lack of CTS certification from Google because of which several apps like Google Pay and other banking apps do not work on beta builds.

Now, Asus might be adding CTS certification to the future ZenFone 6 Android 11 beta builds as per a recent development.

The information comes from ZenTalk Community where a user has shared what appears to be a mail conversation between a supposed Asus official and a ZenFone 6 user.

In the mail, it is clearly mentioned that the next ZenFone 6 beta update will include CTS certification to allow Google Pay and other apps that rely on Google’s SafetyNet.

However, the OEM has not made any official confirmation regarding the same so this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

This is simply due to the fact that OEMs do not usually apply for CTS certification from Google during the beta testing phase.

Also, it has been clearly stated on the ZenFone 6 Android 11 beta thread that Google Pay and some other apps are not supported on beta builds.

It must be noted that the same problem has been affecting those who are testing Android 10 on the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M2.

Notice: Beta firmware DO NOT support Google Pay and some financial apps, and not able to install Netflix from Google Play , please realize this limitation before applying.

However, if the latest information is indeed true then it is good news for ZenFone 6 users as they will be able to use financial and other apps that rely on CTS certification.
