Asus Android 10 update started off on a high with the ZenFone 6 and ZenFone 5Z receiving the OS back in late 2019.
Things started taking a twist with the ROG Phone 2 Android 10 update, which took weeks to hit the stable channel following the release of the beta update. In total, the ROG Phone II went through nine Android 10 beta updates before getting a taste of the stable version.
The story is pretty much worse with respect to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M2. These two have been testing Android 10 beta since late January, but none of them has picked up the stable version to date.
Not long ago, the May 2020 security update was pushed to the Max Pro M1 while the Max Pro M2 got updated with April patches, tagging along fixes for Widevine L1 issues. Both updates are still based on Android Pie, much like the incoming ZenFone 5 May update.
Following the release of the ZenFone 5 Android 10 beta update a while ago, it would be naive to expect the stable version to arrive only a few weeks later. The device has picked up the second beta update so far, but no one knows how many more.
What is known to us and now to you is that the ZenFone 5 May update is up for grabs. The update is arriving as software version 16.0615.2005.130 and is meant for model ZE620KL on the WW and RU SKUs.
