Original story (published on December 19, 2019) follows:

For customisation-hungry iOS users, jailbreaking does ring a bell. As Apple closed all the doors towards changing default options, it comes as the last resort for those who want to transform their iPhone/iPad to the way they like.

A non-jailbroken iDevice doesn’t simply allow you to install third-party applications. And in comparison with Google Play, the Cupertino counterpart has limited number of apps available as well. That’s a prime reason people lean on to jailbreaking.

You need to choose a suitable tool (checkra1n, unc0ver, Chimera, etc.) to begin with. On completion, most of them loads up a package manager to help you get third-party apps at your disposal. As you might already know, Cydia tops the list of popularity and is the default option of multiple tools.

In case you closely observe the jailbreak community, you might have heard of Zebra. The developer pushed it out first as AUPM (A Useless Package Manager) a year ago. When it eventually died in November 2018, the refined version went live as Zebra beta after five months.

You may possibly think Cydia is the best. On almost all the major jailbreak forums, we can see at least a single post debating the supremacy of one package manager over others. Have a look at one, favouring Zebra.

The Pros over Cydia:

-Much cleaner UI

-WAAAAAYYYYYYYY Quicker in a lot of actions, like loading repos. It is also a lot less clunky.

-Has less weird crashes. (if you are having a crash loading repos with the new version, remove Zodttd repo.)

Pros over Sileo:

-The main one is stability. I understand that Sileo is young, but it has a lot of bugs and glitches. Ex. remember when it was deleting everyone’s repos.

-Sileo also has some bad talk for not allowing ads, especially for BigBoss. It’s definitely more… controversial.

Furthermore, Zebra is backed by very talented devs, like Poomsmart, Midnightchips, and Pwn20wnd himself.

zebra beta

Eight months after unveiling beta, the developer has finally announced the arrival of first release candidate for Zebra 1.0. You have to add https://getzbra.com/repo/ to your current package manager sources and it will ensure regular updates. Moreover, the GitHub repo is open for filing issues.
