YouTube has recently updated its video quality settings bringing a more modern look into play.
Also, the latest update brings a new Video quality preferences section in the YouTube app settings. This section allows users to set a default streaming quality for all videos.
Now, the media player video quality settings menu includes the Auto, Higher picture quality, Data saver, and Advanced options.
The Advanced option further includes the old resolutions options so that users can manually select their preferred resolution.
The said change has also been updated on the Google Support community Change the quality of your video knowledge article.
While such changes are usually made in order to make things easier for users, it appears that this change is doing the opposite.
As per multiple reports, users are not liking the new video quality settings as they are unable to set their preferred resolution.
The number of reports suggest that users are finding the new video quality settings too complicated to use.

Moreover, some users are even asking YouTube to restore the old settings menu so that they can easily change resolution.
However, YouTube has not acknowledged users’ concerns on a wider scale and is asking users to share their feedback individually.
It seems highly unlikely that YouTube will revert the settings menu but this is still based on our speculation.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
