Some YouTube TV app users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are experiencing crashing issues on Apple TV after the recent app update.

Allegedly, the app crashes at regular intervals making it difficult for one to binge-watch their favorite shows or web series. The issue has been persistent for the past few days and remains unresolved until now.

One of the users says that the app crashes after an hour’s interval. Even though they can watch content for some time after restarting the app, this is understandably frustrating and annoying.

Another user claims that as soon as they launch the app, the screen turns black and goes back to the Apple TV home screen. They have even tried updating to tvOS 16.4 but to no avail.

Actually, @YouTubeTV turned the game off for me with its repeated crashes on Apple TV for the last week.

Users have even tried signing out and back into YouTube TV, unplugging and rebooting their devices, and uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but to no effect.

Fortunately, the YouTube team is aware of this issue and is working on fixing it. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

Even though the company claims that the issue primarily affects Apple TV 4K 1st-gen devices, some 4th gen Apple TV (HD) users are impacted as well. YouTube suspects memory leaks to be the main cause of this issue.
