New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on March 14, 2023) follows:
YouTube has transformed the internet in countless ways. What started as a simple platform for amateur video sharing has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon that has altered the way we watch and create content online.
However, like any other platform, they are not immune to bugs and issues like the recommendations being weird or unrelated and the video getting paused when trying to type a comment.
YouTube homepage missing
There seems to be an issue with Google Search where the YouTube homepage has gone missing or does not show up (1,2,3).
The YouTube homepage used to be the first result when you searched for YouTube on Google, but that is no longer the case. In fact, it’s nowhere to be found on Google Search’s first page.
This is also true for the search phrase ‘YouTube.com’. Nevertheless, other search engines, such as Bing, display the YouTube homepage at the top spot, as usual.
Does anyone know why the actual YouTube website isn’t showing up when I search “youtube” on my browser(s)? I’ve tried multiple devices and browsers and the only things that come up are the YouTube wiki and specific youtube videos.

Is it me or is the youtube site just doesn’t show up on google search?

To view the YouTube homepage in Google Search results, scroll to the bottom of the first page and look for a line that says ‘repeat the search with the omitted search results’.
Click on this and then you will be able to see the Google Search results with the YouTube homepage at the top.
The cause of this problem is unknown at this time, and YouTube support is yet to comment on it.
Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on the YouTube homepage missing issue and update this article as and when we come across something noteworthy.
Update 1 (March 15, 2023)
02:36 pm (IST): The home page once again appears as the top result, indicating that the previous issue causing it to not appear has been successfully resolved (1,2).
