Online video sharing and social media platform, YouTube, regularly receives updates to make for an even more enriching experience.
YouTube recommendations also help users discover the videos that they love watching on the home page and in the ‘Up next’ section. But it’s not always rosy.
And in fresh reports, it seems that the video recommendation functionality is broken. Those affected say it has stopped suggesting videos.

Many YouTube users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are reporting an issue where the home page is showing a blank screen with no video recommendations.

both on desktop and mobile my YouTube Home page is blank. everything else works just fine, only the home page is not working. anyone else getting this issue?

Surprisngly, searching videos do show results as usual and some users are able to view subscriptions normally too.
Those affected have tried clearing cache or cookies but to no avail. Even disabling their extensions doesn’t seem to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, YouTube is yet to comment on the issue so those affected will have to wait for the team to come up with a definitive fix. There’s also no workaround that can help fix the issue temporarily.

Update 1 (April 3, 2023)
05:13 pm (IST): Several users were again reporting (1, 2, 3, 4) the issue where the home screen goes blank or does not load properly.
Also, some users were complaining (1, 2, 3, 4) that they were only seeing Shorts on their home page. However, these issues have since been resolved.
