Taking another step forward to enhance user experience, YouTube recently introduced Subscriptions feed filter – a feature that lets users view the latest content from a channel within the Subscriptions tab itself. The functionality is currently limited to iOS app, but will soon be pushed to Android as well.
While iOS users are getting hold of the new filter for the subs feed, on the other hand, a lot of YouTube users are currently facing issues with a couple of existing functionalities. What’s appeasing is that at least the company is aware and working on resolving the problems.
Let’s take a look at the issues one by one.
Empty ‘Held for review’ & ‘Likely spam’ comments section
For over past few days, creators have been reporting the comments section in YouTube Studio is displaying no comments under ‘Held for review’ and ‘Likely spam’ despite showing a number next to them (as can be seen in the following user shared image).
A huge number of reports can be seen on Twitter and some across the company’s official help forum as well as Reddit. And here’s what some of the complainants have to say:
I go to: YouTube Studio > Any individual video > comments > held for review. For most videos, it says there are a number of comments held for review. But when I click on that tab, it doesn’t show any comments. Do I have comments that are hidden, or is the number wrong and there actually aren’t any?
Im having an issue where I cannot view comments on the Youtube Studio Comments feature in the “held for review” area and “likely spam” area. Is anyone else having this issue? Usually this works for me so im confused as to why it is not working.
As already mentioned in the beginning, Team YouTube has been actively addressing all user queries regarding this comments glitch on Twitter saying:
We’re aware and our team is currently working for a fix
“This video is private. To share this video, change it to public or unlisted” error
Another issue that is troubling a lot of creators while uploading/publishing videos is that a notification stating the video is private and needs to be changed to public shows up. However, on checking the video, it shows as public only. Here’s how some user word this:
I’m recieving above mentioned message whenever I upload a video but I’m uploading it in PUBLIC but still this warning I’m bit confused… It has started from few days and when I go back to edit the settings it shows me the video is in public.
Why is it that when I’ve uploaded videos onto YouTube for the past three days, it says the video is private when I hit publish – even though I have it set to public? And when I check the video, it is already public to everyone? This trips me out and I don’t like it one bit!
Team YouTube recently addressed this problem saying:
We’re aware of this and looking into it.
Here’s hoping the company fixes both the issues soon. Rest assured we are keeping an active tab and will let you know as and when any new development comes to our sight.
