Sony Bravia is a leading brand in the television market, renowned for producing high-quality and reliable high-definition televisions.
The company has always been committed to delivering innovative and advanced features to its customers, and its latest BRAVIA XR collection in 2023 is no exception.
One of the standout features of this collection is its ability to enhance the gaming experience using Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.
YouTube app error on Sony Bravia TVs
However, some older Sony Bravia TVs users are facing an issue where the YouTube app is not working (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).
According to affected users, when they click on the YouTube app, the logo appears and the loading starts. But after that, the app displays an ‘Internet browser will be closed due to internal error’ message.
This issue seems to have emerged in the past few days, causing frustration and inconvenience for Sony Bravia TV owners who rely on the YouTube app for streaming content.
This issue seems to be affecting some Sony Bravia TVs 2013, 2014, and 2015 models only.
How can I fix this YouTube App/Internet Browser internal error message on my Sony Bravia KDL-42W805A/not Android? (already tried all Internet Browser’s cookies deletion, both modem router and tv factory resets but no results as you can see here…)

Hey guys @TeamYouTube please fix the bug. It’s happening on my Bravia 47″ SMARTV model KDL-47W800A since 2 days ago. I love this TV and I don’t want to buy other one to enjoy YouTube! Honestly doesn’t sounds fair! Thanks

The troubleshooting methods like updating the YouTube app, resetting the TV, and updating the TV’s firmware don’t seem to work either.
Issue acknowledged
Fortunately, YouTube and Sony support didn’t take too long to acknowledge this issue and said that they are currently investigating it. However, they did not provide any ETA for the fix.
We hope a patch is released soon so that Bravia TV users can resume watching their favorite content on YouTube.
