MIUI 12 has been the talk in Xiaomi communities for the past few months. However, the buzz is dying down as many eligible devices have already bagged this update.
We’ve maintained a dedicated tracker that has been keeping tabs on this rollout and you can check it out for more on the MIUI 12 rollout and download links.
A few devices have not bagged this much-awaited update. Earlier reports indicated that Xiaomi was planning to wrap up this rollout by end of October and with that, devices that weren’t updated were slated to get MIUI 12 this October (1,2,3).
Already, we’ve seen positive progress in that regard as the Redmi Note 9S bagged the update in Europe.
Sadly though, other devices might be a little out of luck as hopes for a MIUI 12 update this October seem to be moving ever so slightly out of the picture.
Last week we saw reports that the MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 would be delayed by about a month. We still don’t know why that is.
Today, new reports suggest that the Redmi Note 8T could be facing the same fate. When asked by a user about the state of MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 8T, a Xiaomi Device Team member says:
‘The update is planned to release this month. But there is a small possibility that the update might get delayed.’
-Device Team
Obviously, not the kind of news users are expecting from Xiaomi because now, the update doesn’t have a concrete timeline attached to it.
Also, who is to say what level of priority will be accorded to these devices once the company’s deadline for MIUI 12 rollout lapses?
We can only hope that Xiaomi hastens the development and deployment of MIUI 12 to all these eligible devices as they risk antagonizing these users the longer they go without a MIUI 12 build.
We shall be on hand to let you know as and when this update rolls out. You might, therefore, want to check out our dedicated MIUI 12 tracker for download links and more info when the update drops.
