Redmi Note 8 users have been waiting for quite a while now for the MIUI 12 stable update. A previous report suggested that the device will pick up Android 10 along with MIUI 12 update.

Then just a few days ago, a recent statement from Mi Device team suggested that MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 is right around the corner and users should expect the update to hit their units somewhere between July-end or early-August.

Fast forward to now, a tweet by Xiaomi Firmware Updater, adds more insight to this development. As per the tweet, Xiaomi has already started testing MIUI 12 stable update ROM in China. It is expected to be available for Redmi Note 8 users soon and later on, will be pushed for other regions.

For those who are unaware, Xiaomi Firmware Updater is a reliable source of getting download links to various versions of MIUI updates, including the stable versions, ahead of OTA rollouts.

Good news for Redmi Note 8 users: MIUI 12 China stable rom testing has been started and it should be released within a fortnight, then other regions will start to get the update.

As of now, a limited set of Xiaomi phones have successfully picked up MIUI 12, and taking a cue from the above statement, Redmi Note 8 users can expect MIUI 12 update to be arriving soon on their devices. For a complete list of MIUI 12 updated Xiaomi phones, you can head here.

Well, this is not official information from Xiaomi, and we would advise our users to take it with a pinch of salt.
