This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from June 10) follows:
We saw the launch of the MIUI 12 custom UI from Xiaomi in late-April and at that time, only limited devices were eligible for the beta testing of the MIUI 12 in, specific to the home country of China.
Later, after a couple of weeks or so, Xiaomi put its pedal to the metal and released the global MIUI 12 update roadmap, which depicted when the global Xiaomi phones will pick up the MIUI 12 update.
As per the MIUI 12 global update roadmap, the Poco F1 (Pocophone F1) was supposed to grab the MIUI 12 custom UI update somewhere in July, i.e. Phase 2 of the rollout.
And just for a reminder, Xiaomi has discontinued its beta testing program and instead went ahead with a Mi Pilot Program which aims at providing a limited set of users the taste of the latest MIUI updates.
So, if any bug or issue is present with the update, a small number of users are affected. On the other hand, if everything goes well, the update will soon be pushed to the masses as a stable update.
In line with this, there was a story documented by PiunikaWeb, which reported that Poco F1 or the Pocophone F1 will undergo beta testing via the Mi Pilot Program before the OEM pushes stable MIUI 12 update.
By the looks of it, it seems like the information was bang on because as per the official community forum post, Xiaomi has started off with the MIUI 12 global stable beta update Pilot test recruitment for the Poco F1.
Hang on! There’s more. Not only the Poco F1 or the Pocophone F1 users are eligible for this MIUI 12 global stable beta Mi Pilot program, but this program is also open for the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 8 Pro users.
Talking about the Redmi Note 7 and Note 8 Pro, both the devices were slated to grab the MIUI 12 update in Q3 of 2020 (Phase 2), however, it was reported later that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will pick up the update slightly earlier, i.e. in June-end instead.
The Redmi Note 7 is yet to get the Android 10 update, which is expected to be pushed for the device before MIUI 12.
Fast forward to the MIUI 12 Pilot program, it is available only for a limited number of users, so if you are interested and own any of the phones, i.e. Poco F1, Redmi Note 7 or the Redmi Note 8 Pro then, you need to hurry as it is based on the first-come-first-serve basis.
The program kicks off from today, i.e. June 10 from 11:59 AM till June 19, 2020. Here is the detailed info regarding this MIUI 12 global stable beta Mi Pilot program:
