Xiaomi fans are eager to try the new MIUI 12 skin on their devices. Matter of fact, this has been the case for months now following the release of the software back in April.

To date, a good number of devices have picked up their MIUI 12 updates, both in China and in various markets outside the Asian country. The software has plenty of new features to rave about, which explains the eagerness among various device owners.

Heck, even some of those still waiting for the update to Android 10 to hit their devices are more inclined towards receiving the MIUI 12 update ahead of the newer Android OS. But Xiaomi has other ideas, at least for those on the Redmi 8 and Redmi 8A handsets.

The duo is in line to receive the MIUI 12 update in the coming weeks. But until then, Xiaomi has a new Android 10-based MIUI 11 update available for global variants of the phones. It’s not the first time Android 10 is arriving on the Redmi 8 and 8A, though.

A few weeks ago, both devices bagged the 10 update in China. Usually, devices in other markets start receiving updates a few weeks after their Chinese counterparts pick up the same update, which explains why the global Redmi 8 and 8A are just getting updated to Android 10 now.

If you own the Redmi 8, the update is headed your way as MIUI 11.0.2.0.QCNMIXM while those on the Redmi 8A should expect an OTA update carrying software version 11.0.1.0.QCPMIXM.

Speaking of OTA, airborne updates can take days to reach all devices. That said, you can either wait until the OTA download notification pops up or you can grab the firmware via the links below and flash it manually. Your choice!
