Smartphone displays have seen tremendous evolvement over the past few years. Nowadays, smartphones are coming with OLED panels that not only produce deep blacks and punchy colors, but are quite battery-friendly as well.

Though this evolvement has seen the implementation of new technologies in smartphones, we are also witnessing the slow death of once-very important features like 3.5 mm jack and the notification LED.

However, we can tout the AOD (Always On Display) feature to be a replacement of the notification LED. The Always On Display lets the user keep in check with the latest notifications, even if the display is turned off.

Moreover, the various customization option for the AOD (Always On Display) allows the user to give the phone a refreshing and personal touch as well.

And if we go by recent reports on the official Mi community thread, the Xiaomi has introduced a new Always On Display (AOD) section within the Xiaomi MIUI Themes application. Here new features will be constantly added by the developers for AOD.

At present, it already contains a huge variety of excellent designs and AOD styles from the official Xiaomi developers as well as third-party developers.

Secondly, this feature is currently under beta testing and is live for the MIUI 11 China ROM on AMOLED Phones only. So, the below APKs for the MIUI Themes app and AOD below, will work only on China ROM.
