The smartphone market is pretty volatile, and brands, that have been in the market for years, are easily getting leveled up by OEMs that have just started their operations. Take Realme for example.

It is no hidden fact, that the smartphone market is dominated by the Chinese smartphone giants like Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, Realme, OnePlus, etc., there is always a race among these OEMs to grab that extra chunk of the Android market share.

Talking about Xiaomi, on one hand, the company is still not finished with the rollout of the Android 10 or MIUI 11 to its devices, and on the other, information related to MIUI 12, is already surfacing the internet.

Xiaomi moderators have already confirmed that the MIUI 12 update is under the developmental phase and Xiaomi Mi Play is expected to get MIUI 12.

Besides, we were also able to grab hold of a cached forum post on the official community website of Xiaomi titled “MIUI 12 Official and Update schedule”, which gives us quite a few details about the MIUI 12.

For starters, it states that the first private beta of the MIUI 12 will go live in September, the “Public” beta update will be released for some users in October. And finally, the official stable update will roll out in December.

Then, recently the availability of the MIUI 12 Eligibility Test app on Google Play store, confirmed that indeed, the company is working in full swing for the next iteration of its custom UI.

Amidst all of this, we have yesterday documented a post, where we have reported that the Xiaomi MIUI 12 update has bagged the German certification ahead of alleged internal testing on April 29. Besides, the Mi 10 Lite, which goes by the name Mi 10 Youth Edition in China, is also rumored to be unveiled along with MIUI 12.

And now, if we go by the recent development, the above seems true, because, in a Weibo post, the company has officially teased the poster of MIUI 12 and Mi 10 Lite (Mi 10 Youth Edition).

Notably, the Co-Founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, in a Weibo post, also stated that more about the MIUI 12 and Mi 10 Lite will be revealed on April 27, 2020, at 2 PM.
