[Updated] Xiaomi MIUI 12 Magic Clone (Cloning) camera feature limited to high-end devices, says forum moderator

Many Xiaomi phones have now received the MIUI 12 update which offers a bunch of improvements. The latest custom skin brings features like Super Wallpaper, Control center, Frame Rate Monitor, and much more.

It was reported earlier that users have been waiting for the Magic Clone feature of the MIUI Camera app from Xiaomi Mi 10. Also, the feature was under testing along with the MIUI 12 beta updates that arrived in China for the Mi 10 Youth Edition.

We speculated earlier that the feature might arrive on devices with medium to high-end specs and it seems that the speculation was somewhat right. A Mi community moderator has confirmed that the Magic Clone feature is currently supported only on high-end devices.

As of now it is supported in high end devices.

While Manu Kumar Jain, CEO at Xiaomi India, also teased the Mi 10 Magic Clone feature on Twitter, no information was provided on when it would reach other Xiaomi devices running MIUI 12 even then.

With this confirmation of sorts from the moderator, it seems that Xiaomi is planning to deliver the feature only to the likes of Mi 10. However, the moderator has also stated that the feature will not arrive on the Mi Note 10 so it is still unclear which devices will get it.

This is a tad disappointing for those waiting for the Magic Clone feature on their MIUI 12 powered devices. Nevertheless, camera ports and custom ROMs are always there to provide missing features but not everyone is adventurous enough to go for such options.
