[Updated] Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G Android 10 (MIUI 11) update not coming anytime soon

Android 10 updates have been a pretty hot topic for some time now, as the OEMs are trying their best to push the latest OS update for its devices. The Android 10 OS, itself though, has been out since September 2019.

Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, was a bit late to join the party, but has been doing its bit to roll out the Android 10 update to its devices and has made the update available for quite a bunch of its phone.

Having tons of smartphones under its portfolio, has not made the task any easier. One of the phones is Mi Mix 3 which was launched back in 2019.

The device has picked up the Android 10 update in China, while the global non-5G Mi Mix 3 has also been fortunate to get the update. But, the Mi Mix 3 5G variants are yet to get the taste of Android 10.

To give you some overview of the specs the device is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor, offers 6 GB of RAM, and up to 128 GB of onboard storage.

It comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box and sports a dual 12MP rear camera with a manual pop-up 24 MP selfie shooter. Since the device came with Android 9 Pie out of the box, it is yet to receive its first major Android OS update.

But, there is some bad news for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G Android 10 hopefuls. As per one of the moderators, there is no sign of development of MIUI 11 or the Android 10 for the Mi Mix 3 5G, meaning that the update is not coming to hit the units anytime soon.

Unfortunately, there is no sign of development of MIUI 11 or Android 10 for Mi Mix 3 5G variant as of now.

Though moderators always do not have the correct information and until something official from Xiaomi itself comes up, we would advise you to take every information with a pinch of salt.

However, considering that is the only source that we have now, it is clear that Android 10 is not on the cards for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G variant, at least for the time being. We will keep you in the loop in the meantime, and keep our eyes on the lookout for further developments in this regard.

Xiaomi’s customer support has confirmed via an email to a user that the Mi Mix 3 5G will not be receiving the Android 10 update. However, the device is expected to get the MIUI 12 update based on Android 9 Pie by the end of October this year. See the full story here.
