Xiaomi hasn’t released a successor to the Mi A3, the most recent Android One device from the company. Announced in July 2019, the device should have been succeeded by now, but nope!
By the look of things, Xiaomi seems to have shelved the Android One program altogether and not just the Mi A4 for that matter.
Going forward, it’s unlikely that Xiaomi will release any other Android One device. This makes the current Mi A3 possibly the last in the short-lived series.
Since Android One devices get two major Android OS updates and an additional year of monthly security updates, the Mi A3 remains the only Xiaomi Android One device eligible for the update to Android 11.
But in typical Xiaomi fashion, details of when the update can be expected remain scarce. Still, we expect that Xiaomi will keep its word and push an update to Android 11 to the Mi A3 sometime next year.
Until then, expect to receive two or more security updates based on Android 10, one of which is currently rolling out to the European and global variants of the device.
In the former market, the update is arriving as version 11.0.10.0.QFQEUXM, up from version 11.0.9.0.QFQEUXM while on the global unit, the update is rolling out as version 11.0.23.0.QFQMIXM, up from version 11.0.22.0.QFQMIXM.
