Mi A3 is the latest offering from Xiaomi launched back in 2019 under the Android One program. For the unaware, Android One devices are guaranteed two major OS updates.
Technically, Mi A3 should receive updates without any hiccups, but the reality is different. The Android 10 update was released for the phone a couple of months back after several botched updates.
Since the Xiaomi Mi A3 received its first major OS update in the form of Android 10, users are keen on knowing when the Android 11 update will make its way to their phones. Note that Mi A3 runs stock Android OS, meaning that MIUI 12 will not be available for the phone.
In one of our earlier reports, we have highlighted that Mi A3 will get the Android 11 update (which should be pushed by Google to Pixel phones somewhere in September 2020). While Mi A3 users wait for it, a new piece of information related to Android 11 has popped up on the official Mi community forum.
Responding to a user query about the Mi A3 screen recording feature, a Xiaomi moderator has clarified that stock Android 10 does not feature this screen recording option, but it is present in Android 11.
In the meantime, users can use a third-party app for screen recording or wait for the update to arrive on their phone to use this new feature. Here is what the actual comment reads:
Stock Android doesn’t have screen recorder feature as of now but in Android 11 beta its there, you can google it for more info. So have to wait for it, Till then you can use 3rd party screen recorder from Google Playstore.

As of now, Xiaomi has made the Android 11 Beta 1 update live only for the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro, while Poco F2 Pro and X2 are in the pipeline. And without much clarity regarding the stable Android 11 release date for Xiaomi phones, we are not sure when Mi A3 will pick up the update.
