New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on June 18, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi is sending out a new Android 10-based software update to two of its Android One smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A3.

Both devices have been running on Android 10 for a while now, but bugs have become the order of the day for many device owners. With the incoming June 2020 security updates, many will be hoping that some of them are addressed.

Xiaomi doesn’t say much in the changelog, though. So it’s hard to tell whether issues like random reboots triggered by the Mi A3 May update have been fixed.

The airborne update for the Mi A3 is currently limited to the European ROM. No word on when the global ROM will join the party, but it shouldn’t be long. The Mi A2 June update, on the other hand, is rolling out to the only global ROM.

Where the Mi A3 June security update is rolling out as software version 11.0.3.0.QFQEUXM, folks using the Mi A2 should receive an update with software version 11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM as their June patch.

As noted, these are OTA updates. The thing with OTA rollouts is that they take time, probably days or even weeks before all units receive the download notification. That said, you might have to wait until later next week before you switch to the latest June patch.

The question of whether to wait or not can best be answered by you. From this side of the table, though, we have the download links needed for manual installation of the new June updates for either device.

  • Device: Xiaomi Mi A3
  • Codename: laurel_sprout
  • Channel: Europe Stable
  • Version: 11.0.3.0.QFQEUXM
  • Android: 10
    • Type: Recovery
  • Device: Xiaomi Mi A2
  • Codename: jasmine
  • Channel: Global Stable
  • Version: 11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM
  • Android: 10
    • Type: Fastboot

Feel free to grab the required file for your device and install the update manually, but only if you know your way around flashing ROMs. Of worth remembering is that the process of installing recovery ROMs differs from that of fastboot ROMs.

Update 1

The official announcement post for the Mi A2 June update is live. The update is still limited to a small set of users, with the entire rollout process set to be phased.

Hei Mi A2 users,

Mi A2 is currently receiving the latest security patch with build number V11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM based on Android 10. It is partially released on random OTA basis and pushed in phrases.

OTA Download: For eagerly waiting can check manually as follows:

Go to device Settings – System – tap on System Update.

Should the latest patch V11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM be available on the device, then tap on the Download button and install the update by following the on-screen instructions.

The story is also the same with respect to the Mi A3, with Xiaomi attaching the following release notes to the official announcement post:

Hello, Mi Fans!
We are thrilled to announce that the Android 10 based new EEA Stable ROM for Mi A3, V11.0.3.0 QFQEUXM is out now. It will be pushed out to the users via OTA, in batches!!

1. The update will be rolled out via OTA and will be with/without the Changelog.

2. ROM will be released to the masses after a successful preview of the Stable ROM.

Similar to the Mi A2, the Mi A3 June update is also rolling out in stages, with only 10% of all units able to access the OTA update as of today.

The update is being rolled out in phases and in case you have not received it, you will get it shortly. We appreciate your continued support and patience meanwhile.

The system update will be available to 10% of users. Further steps depend on user feedback.
