Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite July security update finally rolls out (Download link inside)

Android as a whole has come a long way in the past few years in terms of updates. Gone are the days when devices would go for several months, sometimes years without getting updates.

Today, most mainstream devices, flagships, and mid-range devices alike are assured of at least three years of regular security patches and two of those being updates to new versions of Android, at least for the most part. Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi are also on board with this prevailing trend.

Launched back in July 2018, the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite along with its beefier brother, the Xiaomi Mi A2 represents Xiaomi’s second attempt at Android One, a near-stock version of Android that is a stuck contrast from Xiaomi’s own MIUI.

The device ran Android 8.1 out of the box and has since been updated to run Android 10. Being part of the Android One program, the Mi A2 Lite has been pretty well updated throughout its life and most recently, we saw the device bag the June 2020 security patch (11.0.7) based on Android 10.

Today, users of the Mi A2 Lite are once again, being treated to another security patch, this time the July 2020 patch. As has been the case with previous releases, this update’s changelog is rather slim. It indicates that this build aims to optimize system stability and reduce lag.
