Xiaomi Mi A3 will be a year old in a couple of weeks. Naturally, the company should be lining up the device’s successor at this point, the Mi A4, but not much is out there regarding this phone.

Until then, the Mi A3 remains the latest offering in Xiaomi’s Android One program, which also has the Mi A2 as another decent option. Apart from the few niggly bugs that often pop up after software updates, these are great devices.

And the Mi A2 is getting even better with the latest June 2020 security update, which started rolling out a couple of days ago as software version 11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM. According to user reports, it brings more than just the typical security patch.

Mi A2 June update brings native call recording

A few days ago, we reported that Xiaomi phones that come without the MIUI Dialer app will likely get support for native call recording before the end of 2020. In case you didn’t know, the MIUI Dialer supports native call recording, but the Google Phone app on Xiaomi phones doesn’t.

Since Android One has nothing to do with MIUI, Mi A2 users have had to make do without the call recording feature on the pre-installed Google Phone app. But this is no more, at least for those who have installed the latest June security patch.

June security Patch 2020 (Build Number- QKQ1.190910.002 V11.0.11.0.QDIMIXM) for #MiA2 have added inbuilt call recording feature.

If this feature hasn’t arrived on your end it means the June patch hasn’t arrived either. You can either wait or check out over coverage here to grab the download link for manual installation.

Elsewhere in Indonesia, local Xiaomi boss has confirmed that some phones sold in the region can now enjoy VoLTE support.
