Xiaomi Mi A1 July security update rolls out (Download link inside)

The Xiaomi Mi A1 was an instant hit when it launched back in 2017. This was Xiaomi’s first Android One device which offered a clean, simple version of Android and regular updates to Xiaomi users who were not fans of Xiaomi’s bloated, feature-packed MIUI.

Being part of the Android One program, the Xiaomi Mi A1 was assured of at least two years of Android OS update and an additional year of regular security patches. This is 2020 and the device has already received the two promised Android updates and Android 9 Pie seems to be as far as it will get updated.

Since the device is still eligible for the extra year of security patch updates, users of the Mi A1 still expect updates from Xiaomi and yes, they have been getting these updates. The device has bagged every recent monthly update from April, May, and June.

Not to break this streak, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is bagging the latest July security update, and you guessed it, it is still based on Android 9 Pie. This patch weighs in at only 39MB and bumps up the software version on this device to V10.0.23.0.PDHMIXM, up from version V10.0.22.0.PDHMIXM.

Also worth noting is that, while the Xiaomi Mi A1 will not officially get updated to Android 10, thanks to the developer community, there are a number of aftermarket firmware for the Mi A1 that brings Android 10 in all its glory.
