Xiaomi just announced on the Mi Community that they’ll be pushing bug report statuses for some of the most commonly reported issues on various Xiaomi devices on a biweekly basis through MIUI UX Optimization Announcements.
While the initiative isn’t exactly novel since MIUI Weekly Bug Reports were indeed being published for the past couple of months, there is now a greater hint of officiality.
Our past coverages on the weekly bug reports discuss issues like random reboots on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro and touch screen problems on the Mi 11X. These can be found here and here.
And now, the first volume of the MIUI User Experience Optimization Announcement acknowledges several trending issues and even gives ETAs for when they’ll get fixed.
But before we dive into that, you will be pleased to know that Xiaomi will be launching a ‘user proposal feature’ for the Mi Community in October 2021.
Through this, users will be able to put forward their own suggestions and needs for Xiaomi products. These suggestions will then be processed by Xiaomi’s employees themselves.
Anyway, the progress of the bugs and issues that Xiaomi is currently working to fix has been given below:
System lag on Xiaomi Mi 9T, Redmi K20, Mi Note 10, & Redmi Note 10
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 users have been complaining of lags and freezes when playing games since the device was first launched. Thankfully, this problem has been fixed via an ‘automatic update.’
The case of the Xiaomi Mi 9T, Redmi K20, and Mi Note 10 differs slightly since the system lag occurs during regular usage.
The root cause for it has been identified and the issue has too been solved. The bug-fixing update will be making it to all of the affected devices in early to mid-July.
SIM card not recognized on Xiaomi Redmi Note 9
The issue has been going on for quite some time now and affected users will have to for another month as an update with a fix for it will be rolling out in mid-August.
Display issues with music-related notifications on all MIUI 12.5 devices
While the issue isn’t really described in detail in the MIUI UX Optimization Announcement post, it is likely related to the media notification gap issue that we highlighted previously.
Summary: Display issues with audio playback apps/music-related notifications on the notification bar
Affected Products: All devices currently updated to MIUI 12.5.
Status: Fixed via automatic update. Rollout started on June 15 and had been completed by June 30.
This problem is said to have already been fixed with an update rollout that commenced on June 15 and ended on June 30.
Red tint issue in dark mode on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro
There have been quite a few complaints about display red tint issues when the dark mode is turned on from Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro users. It is more noticeable when on 120Hz refresh rate at lower brightness levels.
The device did suffer from display flickering in the past which was fixed with an OTA update. But the red tint issue seems to be something new.
Summary: Red tint issue in dark mode
Affected Product(s): Redmi Note 10 Pro
Affected Version(s): V12.5.1.0.RKFMIXM
Status: Investigating
Thankfully, this has now been acknowledged and marked as being under investigation.
