Rejoice! Mi 9 Pro 5G users in China, as the OEM Xiaomi has now started seeding the Android 10 update for the device. The update is currently live for the users in China and the global rollout is expected soon.
Keep in mind that the Mi 9 Pro 4G variant has already been served with the Android 10 update back in March and it was about time for the Mi 9 Pro 5G to pick up the OS update.
Interestingly, the Mi 9 Pro 5G came with MIUI 11 out of the box and the device is in the early batch to get the MIUI 12 custom UI in China by the end of June.
Talking about the Android 10 update for the phone, it arrives with version number V11.0.6.0.QFXCNXM and along with the latest OS, it bumps the security patch level to April 2020.
The update is quite hefty at 2.6 GB in size, so it advised to download the update on a stable internet connection. Here is the complete changelog of the update:

As you would expect from an official OTA, the update has been pushed in a staggered manner, meaning that it will take some time in arriving on all the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G units.
If you have not yet received the update notification, then you can head over to Settings>>System Updates>>Check for updates, to check for the update manually.

Locate the update package inside the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder of your internal storage and select the file to update manually.
