The Xiaomi Mi 9 released last year and was Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone for 2019. It came with Android 9 out-of-the-box and has since then picked up the Android 10 update. Further, the device also bagged the stable MIUI 12 update back in June.

And while the latest MIUI 12 skin comes with a plethora of features and customization options, it might not cut it for some enthusiasts. This is because to unlock the true potential of Android phones, most individuals prefer to use custom ROMs instead of the official OEM ROM.

Speaking of which, last month, we reported that the Android 10-based Pixel Experience ROM is now available for several Xiaomi phones including the Xiaomi Mi 9. As the name suggests, the Pixel Experience ROM brings the Google Pixel software experience to smartphones from other vendors.

But the good news does not end there since the Mi 9 has now bagged support for Paranoid Android Quartz 4 which is based on Android 10. The team even confirmed the news via a post on Twitter.

Just a few days ago, we covered the availability of the Quartz release 4 for the Redmi 5 and Redmi 7/Y3. Prior to this, other Xiaomi phones also got the Paranoid Android Quartz 4 support, namely the Redmi Note 7, Mi A2, Mi 9T/Redmi K20, and the Mi 8 Pro.

Many other devices have also bagged support for the custom ROM with the Quartz 1, Quartz 2, and Quartz 3 releases. Therefore, Xiaomi Mi 9 users can finally take advantage of the added support and enjoy the highly customizable and feature-rich Paranoid Android ROM on their devices.

In case you want to download the ROM for the Mi 9, head here. Although, if you rather prefer the MIUI skin, you now have the MIUI 12.1 update to look forward to.
