The Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro were some of the best smartphones to be released in 2018. Both phones came with the top of the line specifications for a reasonable asking price. On the software front, Android 8.1 Oreo came pre-loaded alongside MIUI 10 on both models.

Since then, the devices have bagged the MIUI 11 update as well. Moreover, they are also in line to receive Xiaomi’s latest skin, which is MIUI 12. Earlier, we reported that the MIUI 12 update for the Mi 8 will arrive by the end of July or mid-August. That information still holds true and we expect to see it arrive by the end of the month.

However, Xiaomi isn’t waiting for the MIUI 12 update to push the June security patch for the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Pro. This could be the last MIUI 11-based update for the duo. The new update carries the V11.0.4.0.QEARUXM software version for the Mi 8 and V11.0.4.0.QECRUXM for the Mi 8 Pro.
