This is not a hidden fact that the Chinese smartphone giant, Xiaomi, pushes updates for its users in China ahead of the global users. Though there is almost a slight difference in the Chinese ROM and the Global ROM, that is how Xiaomi operates.

Well, talk about the MIUI 11 (Android 10) update for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite, the update was pushed, as usual, for the Chinese users ahead of its global counterparts, back in mid-March.

And a few days later in March, the OEM started rolling out the stable Android 10 update for the Mi 8 Lite for the global users and is now also live for the Russian variants of the phone as well.

Although the company has confirmed and the MIUI 11 (Android 10) update has already been released for the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite users, there are still certain users of the device that have not yet received the update.

And one of such users of the Mi 8 Lite, took to the official Mi community forum to ask about the Android 10 (MIUI 11) update for the Mi 8 Lite.

Reacting to this query, one of Xiaomi’s moderators came ahead and replied that the update has been already pushed, however, there are a few users who bought the unlocked devices from the sellers, have not yet received the update.

The moderator further added that the reason behind this is not known, but the also pointed out that this depends on the fact how the seller unlocked the device.

Here is what the actual statement by the Xiaomi moderator reads:

Mi 8 Lite is already updated to MIUI 11 and Android 10. But a few users, especially those who bought the device unlocked from the seller has trouble receiving updates. Not sure what’s causing that – it could be due to how the seller unlocked it. We are checking on it.

Going by the ending statement from the moderator, Xiaomi is looking for the root cause of this issue and we hope that, once it is determined, more information on this about the Mi 8 Lite will be shared.
