The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G and the Mi 10 Lite Zoom are part of the company’s flagship lineup. Both smartphones released with Android 10 onboard alongside MIUI 11.

Luckily, the company has now begun releasing the MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 for the Mi 10 Lite 5G and the Mi 10 Lite Zoom. Speaking of which, MIUI is one of the most feature-packed skins. However, those who love tinkering with their Android phones know that the best way to do so is by installing custom ROMs.

Xiaomi is known to be one of the most developer-friendly Android vendors out there. This is because it releases the kernel sources for its devices to the public. As a result, it makes the job for ROM developers a lot easier.

Further, it is one of the main reasons why there are a ton of custom ROMs for Xiaomi devices. For example, Paranoid Android Quartz 4 has now added support for four new Xiaomi smartphones. This kind of support isn’t available for devices from most other Android vendors.

Xiaomi swiftly released the kernel source for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro just hours after the announcement of the devices in China. Now, the company has also released the kernel source code for the Mi 10 Lite 5G and the Mi 10 Lite Zoom.

Thanks to this, users can expect to see the devices grab support for different custom ROMs. In case you’re a developer looking to make use of the kernel source, you can get if from the official Github page.

In case you aren’t a big fan of custom ROMs but want new features, you’d be glad to know that Xiaomi is already beta testing MIUI 12.1. Further, you can see the list of Xiaomi devices that might receive the Android 11 update.
