[Update: New list] Xiaomi Android 11 update: Purported list of eligible devices surfaces

Xiaomi has already released the Android 11 beta update for the Mi 10 series as well as the Redmi K30 Pro. Furthermore, the company is currently testing out the update for several other devices internally. So we expect to see Xiaomi release the Android 11 update for some of its devices shortly after the official release.

The company isn’t the quickest when it comes to providing Android updates since it has only just managed to roll out the Android 10 update for almost all eligible devices. Thus, there’s a lot Xiaomi needs to work upon. Further, the company does not have a fixed update cycle for all devices.

Traditionally, Xiaomi provides 2 major OS updates for mid-range to high-end models. But most phones from the Redmi series only get 1 OS update. Therefore, the list of existing Xiaomi devices that may bag the Android 11 update is considerably shorter than what it should have been.

Taking into account past trends and update cycles from Xiaomi, we put together a list of phones from Xiaomi that may be eligible for the Android 11 update. Of course, this list is by no means an official confirmation of sorts.

But a new alleged list of eligible devices for the Android 11 update seems to have surfaced online. The list was shared via the Xiaomi & MIUI News group on Telegram. It basically adds more weight to our existing list since the devices on this list are the same as the ones we have predicted.

This list of devices has also confirmed that the Android 11 update will not be arriving on devices such as the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 8 Pro. Naturally, this has left many users frustrated with Xiaomi. Of course, this too is not an official confirmation from Xiaomi. Therefore, the — take it with a grain of salt — advice applies here too.

As usual, we will continue to track the Android 11 rollout for Xiaomi devices.

IST: 15:20 pm: According to a recent information, Xiaomi is in the process of adding some more devices to their Android 11 internal testing program. The Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro (global), & Redmi 9A have reportedly been added to the internal testing program.

An updated list has now surfaced that conveys some changes. Going by the latest information, Android 11 internal testing has begun on Mi 10 Ultra and Poco C3 (rebranded Redmi 9C device that is yet to release).

Additionally, while Poco M2/Redmi 9 Prime has been added to the list of the confirmed devices, for some reason, the Redmi 10X 4G/Redmi Note 9 has been taken off of the list, despite being eligible. Also, the devices that launched with MIUI 9 aren’t eligible for Android 11.

Not to miss, this information is not official, so should be taken with a grain of salt.

Recent developments suggest that on the newly released Poco X3 NFC, Xioami has begun the internally testing of Android 11. Please note, this information isn’t official.
