Xiaomi Android 11 stable update likely coming soon to Redmi 9 Power, Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro 5G, Mi 10i & other phones

Xiaomi MIUI software goes through various development stages before reaching mainstream users. First is the internal (closed beta) release meant for a few users and then followed by the public beta.

After publicly testing MIUI beta, Xiaomi then elevates it to the beta stable state. Here, the firmware is as good as stable, but for testing purposes, only a few mainstream users receive it.

Once Xiaomi is rest assured that all is well, the same beta stable MIUI firmware is then rolled out to more mainstream users on a wider scale.

All this could take weeks or even months before users actually get hold of stable updates, a situation that most Xiaomi device owners are having to find themselves in with respect to Android 11 update.

Months after Google released the stable update, only a handful of eligible Xiaomi devices have received the stable version of the OS, among them the premium Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Poco F2 Pro.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro was among the first Xiaomi devices to bag the update to Android 11. However, this rollout was limited to the Indian variant, which is also known as Redmi Note 9S in other markets.

Well, apparently, other variants of the Redmi Note 9 series are in line for an update soon. This stems from a recent development suggesting that Xiaomi is testing stable Android 11 update on multiple devices.

Among them is the global Redmi Note 9 also known as Redmi 10X 4G back in China alongside the Redmi Note 9 4G (China) and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. Below is the full list of devices in question:

• Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra
• Xiaomi Mi 10T/ Mi 10T Pro/Redmi K30s Ultra
• Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite/Xiaomi Mi 10i
• Redmi 10X Pro
• Redmi 10X 5G

• Redmi Note 9 4G China/Redmi 9T
• Redmi 10X 4G / Redmi Note 9 Global
• Redmi 9 Power
• Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G

Again, software testing can take quite some time and thus there is no way we can tell the exact release date of the stable Android 11 update for these Xiaomi devices.

But at least we now know that the stable rollout is not too far from now. What remains uncertain is whether the said updates will also tag along MIUI 12.5 update.

So far, only a handful of devices are testing MIUI 12.5 beta in China, with Xiaomi promising to push the stable version somewhere in April before embarking on a global rollout.
