Microsoft’s Xbox Design Lab is a program that lets Xbox users create custom Xbox wireless controllers. Customers can choose different colors, different button styles, and special laser engravings for their custom Xbox controller.

The Xbox Design Lab was launched back in 2016 alongside Xbox One S, but last year Microsoft discontinued the service ahead of the launch of its next-gen consoles, Xbox Series X/S.

Now Microsoft has relaunched the Xbox Design Lab, letting people create custom Xbox Series X/S controller.

The relaunch was announced at Xbox’s E3 follow-up showcase yesterday and the Xbox Design Lab website was shortly up and running allowing people to place an order for their custom Xbox series X/S controller.

The service lets customers choose different colors for different parts of the controller. Currently, there are 18 colors to choose from. Customers can also get their controller engraved with a custom message of up to 16 characters.

But the relaunch hasn’t gone smoothly as customers are now reporting that their custom controller orders are getting cancelled immediately after placing them.

Mine’s been doing the same thing. I called them and they said it’s something wrong with their system but they didn’t give me an ETA of when it would be resolved. (Source)

Xbox Support team has acknowledged the issue and is currently working on it.

Other than that people are also facing other issues with the Design Lab service like the website not working or not being able to place an order as the controller can’t be delivered to their country.

I can’t even place a damn order as it keeps telling me the controller can’t be delivered to the selected country. (Source)

We are hopeful that the Xbox Support team will soon resolve all the issues that their customers are facing. We will keep monitoring the situation and keep you updated with any new development in the matter.
